Maureen's pies are legendary in their own right. Lovingly handmade and prepared fresh every morning, everyone loves a Maureen's pie that's because we only use the finest cuts of prime beef which is then minced before Jason (son of Maureen and Dave) begins baking at 5am every morning to ensure that every pie is baked to perfection with a golden crispy pastry that is second to none.
Mashed potato is just mashed potato. That is until it gets the Maureen's treatment, locally sourced our potatoes are not just chopped, pealed and boiled they are whipped into a smooth and succulent full bodied mashed potato that is lightly seasoned with a pinch of salt and a lot of love to give it that imitable Maureen's flavour that it's renowned for.
Our Liquor really is the nectar of the Gods. What goes in to Maureen's liquor is a family kept secret spanning over 60 years. What we can tell you is that is contains fresh parsley, cornflour to thicken it and that secret ingredient that gives it that unique taste that everyone has come to known and love.
Maureen’s Pie and Mash has served the East End of London for over 60 years. Serving up traditional Pie and Mash with Liquor, Jellied or Stewed Eels or a Salt Beef Beigel everybody seems to enjoy Maureen’s. Run by Karen, Jason and Mum Maureen it’s definitely a family run business and a place you’ll always feel welcome and at home.
